SELECTING PHOTOS

Good photos are the key to a great Caricature sketch.

If your photo is too small, too pixelated, blurry,  under exposed, or over exposed it makes the artists job very difficult or impossible.

When selecting your photos there are 2 things to keep in mind.

First is the Rule of Thumb: When printed out at normal size the face of the subject should be as large or larger than a normal adult thumb or at least the size of a twenty five cent coin.

Second is to remember the artist has never seen the person before. Make sure the photos you send accurately depicts the person you want Caricatured. For example if "Bob" is a person who smiles and is happy all the time and you send a photo of him right after he ate a lemon and he has a sour look on his face  then that photo is not an accurate depiction of "Bob".

PHOTOS SHOULD BE SENT as a  300 DPI JPEG with extra background cropped out.

This little girls face is too small for detail but it has good expression. In this case we would want additional photos.

In some cases a "bad" photo may be usable for an expression if other photos are provided that may not have the

correct expression but are clear and in focus.

Here are some examples of good photos.
